FileZilla for Linux and Mac

Ubuntu

One of the very few programs that I missed moving from Windows to Ubuntu last spring was Filezilla. There are some FTP clients available, but I haven't found any that I liked quite as much. If you look on their project page on SourceForge, it states "FileZilla is a fast FTP and SFTP client for Windows with a lot of features". Well here is a cool little find:

Filezilla Devlopment Server Nightly Builds!

There are distributions for Linux, Mac and BSD.

It is clearly not a supported product and not yet out of development, but I have found it to be remarkably stable.

Enjoy!

Super - I was just cursing gFTP and wondering if I could load Filezilla under WINE or something. I'll have to give this a shot.

Good find. I have been using http://cyberduck.ch/ Cyberduck, but it would crash on me all the time and I didn't like the interface...maybe I was too used to FileZilla...hopefully this works out.

Nice find - loved FileZilla under Windows, and recently added a Mac ... just great to be able to use the same tool on a Mac now.

I have downloaded the powerpc-darwin8 nightly build (among others) onto a Power Mac G4 with lots of capacity. The download unZips to the FZ icon, but won't open. Any ideas? Sure would like to use this. Getting nowhere with Netfirms stuff...

This is a great find. I echo Brian's sentiments with Cyberduck, frequent crashes (and also too cutesy-poo!)

I've also been using FireFTP (a Firefox plugin) lately to do FTP. It's convenient as usually when I'm FTPing I have a browser window open anyway. It works great on Linux and PC, I'm assuming it would work fine on Mac as well.
